What do students call you? Ms. Arabie

Where is your hometown? Baton Rouge, LA

Why do you love working in education? I love working in education because it allows me to witness the moment a student’s "lightbulb" goes on, sparking their interest and igniting a passion for learning. I get to channel their creativity, help them acquire knowledge, and feed their growing hunger for discovery, watching as they develop lifelong passions. As the Senior Director of Academic Support, I love collaborating with professionals who share the same passion for education. Although I’m not in the classroom as often as I used to be, I share in my team's victories. When our students achieve their goals, we all win. While I do miss the direct daily teaching, it's incredible to see the broader impact of our work on a larger scale. Working in education isn't just a job; it's truly a vocation, and I have felt called to fulfill this purpose.

Why Bridge? I love working at Bridge because of the incredible resources we have that support our students’ growth and learning. Bridge is the only school with a mission powerful enough to make me leave a school system I had been with for a decade. I left it all behind to join a school that truly lives into its vision every single day. From on-site medical access to a full farm-to-table kitchen service, Bridge provides an unparalleled environment where kids can thrive. It feels so rewarding to be a part of this mission, knowing we're giving everything we have to create the best possible learning experience for our scholars each and every day. I can’t wait to see who our kids grow up to be and witness the long-term impact Bridge has on the community.
