Grades + Growth Presentations

This year, instead of the back-to-school open house that we have done in previous years, we invited our families to join us for Grades & Growth Night. This evening focused on helping families understand their child’s academic development and was facilitated by our Instructional Leadership Team.

Families learned more about the assessments we use at Bridge, received their child’s data, and got support in understanding what that data means and how to help their child’s growth. Presentations were offered in developmentally appropriate grade bands: K2–2nd, 3rd–5th, and 6th–8th.

ma dese family guides

Instruction is most powerful when educators have strong content knowledge and access to high-quality instructional materials and professional learning that promote inclusive practice accessible to all students. To support standards-based learning, we believe that every student should engage with grade-appropriate text every day, with meaningful real-world problems every day, and in scientific conversations using data every week.

As such, the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has designed family guides to the Massachusetts learning standards help families understand what students are expected to know and be able to do by the end of each grade. These guides are available in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and simplified Chinese. Please click here to view the grade level guides to help best support you child’s learning!
